About the clinic
Established in 2000, Zhang Acupuncture Clinic serves Whanganui and surrounding communities including Marton, Ohakune, National Park and Hawera.
Jason and Jessica Zhang graduated from Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine. They trained in both Chinese and Western medicine and worked as medical doctors before immigrating to New Zealand in 1996.
After becoming registered acupuncturists in New Zealand, they established Zhang Acupuncture Clinic in 2000. Over the years, the clinic has built a strong patient base and a trusted reputation with patients, local GPs and other health professionals, including physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths.
Today, Jason, Jessica and Sherry combine extensive clinical experience with a professional, caring and personalised approach to each appointment.

Clinic founders
Jason and Jessica bring more than 30 years of experience in Chinese and Western medicine. Their treatments may include acupuncture, acupressure and Tui Na, deep tissue massage and manipulations, cupping, moxibustion and Chinese herbal medicine, according to each patient’s needs.
Practitioner
Sherry graduated from Henan University of Chinese Medicine with a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. She has more than 10 years of clinical experience, including seven years in China and three years in New Zealand.
She has worked at Zhang Acupuncture Clinic for more than two years, takes a personalised approach to supporting patients with a range of health concerns, and has received positive feedback from her patients.
